Dog Who Walked Home Alone After Owner's Death in Hit-and-Run Will Train to Be a Service Animal
07/05/2023

What a heart-wrenching story. It's always sad to hear about tragic incidents involving pets and their owners. It's fortunate that Patch was uninjured and able to make his way home after the incident. I'm glad to hear that Metro Animal Care and Control was able to take him in and attempt to find a family member to claim him. It's also great to hear that Medical Mutts Service Dogs has stepped in to help train Patch as a service animal. It's admirable that they use shelter dogs for their programs and promote collaboration between dogs and people through research, education, and ethical training. It sounds like Patch will be in good hands and have a bright future ahead of him. I hope the investigation into the hit-and-run leads to justice for Patch's late owner.
