China Rescue Dogs, a nonprofit organization dedicated to rescuing and rehabilitating dogs caught in the dog meat trade, has facilitated the rescue of 22 dogs from China, including 17 golden retrievers, two corgis, a French bulldog, a sheepdog, and a Malamute. After receiving veterinary care and microchips, the dogs were flown to California by WeatherTech CEO David MacNeil, and each canine was met by its new owner from different US states.
The organization is now raising funds for another rescue flight before the Yulin Dog Meat Festival in June, which is expected to lead to around 50,000 dog deaths per day.
