Donna Lochmann from Stray Rescue of St. Louis had to carry out a tricky rescue mission when she was called to save a family of pit bulls, including a protective mother and three puppies hidden in a backyard. Lochmann lured the mother with some Vienna sausages before reuniting her with her puppies.
The puppies were difficult to catch as they were familiar with their surroundings and ran away. However, Lochmann was eventually able to lure them to her with the smell of puppy food. Once rescued, the puppies were passed for veterinarian screenings and were found to be healthy, and went into foster care. Donutfest, their mother, is still looking for a loving home.
