A dog named Zip became a guardian and best friend to an orphaned foal named Tye after Tye’s mother had to be euthanized. Karla Swindle, the owner of S & K Quarter Horses in Fayette, Alabama, said that Zip knew something was wrong with Tye and stayed with the foal all night, comforting him with a sympathetic paw. Zip continued to look after Tye every day for weeks. Tye has since grown up to be a happy, healthy horse, no doubt thanks to Zip’s care and friendship in his early days.
Although they don’t rely on each other anymore, the two will always be friends and have a special place in each other’s hearts. It’s a beautiful story of an unlikely friendship between animals. Dogs are caring and compassionate animals, and they have great protective instincts, often taking animals under their wings if they sense they need a helping hand.
