Marty found three newborn kittens in bushes without their mother. She sought help from animal advocate Nikki Martinez, who instructed her on caring for the kittens until she returned the next day. Nikki took the weak kittens in and searched for their mother with no success. She contacted a stray cat rescue group and named the kittens Cookie, Potato, and Bun.
