Vardis is a 3-year-old rescue dog who spent most of his life alone until he was taken in by the One Tail At A Time shelter in 2021. His rescuers didn't know much about his past, but they knew he was battling pneumonia. When Vardis was healthy enough, he was placed with foster mom Lynsey, who learned about his true breed by doing a DNA test.
Through the same DNA test, Vardis was reunited with his long-lost sister Brunch who was also rescued from Chicago Animal Care and Control. The two had a successful playdate and shared a cheese stick. Vardis is still looking for his forever home.
