The series follows a U.S. program that deploys female operatives near high-value male targets. These agents infiltrate the targets' inner circle, developing close relationships with their wives, girlfriends, or daughters, in order to gather valuable information to eliminate the targets. Kidman's character, alongside Morgan Freeman's character Edwin Mullins, oversees the Lioness program. Zoe Saldana stars as Joe, a woman who must balance her family life and personal life while serving as the main recruiter for the program.
The series premiere introduces Laysla De Oliveira as Cruz Manuelos, a rookie operative in the Lioness program. Urban and Kidman are known for their support of each other's endeavors.
