A kitten rescued from a recycling plant in Hartlepool, UK, has been dubbed a ‘Christmas miracle’. The tiny feline was found with his brother when they were just a few days old with umbilical cords attached. They were sent to a local vet for emergency treatment where the surviving kitten, named Shelby, was taken home by vet nurse Pippa Young for round-the-clock care. Unfortunately, Shelby’s brother Arthur died five weeks after being found. Now nearly one year old, Shelby is doing well and has become a loving addition to the family, which includes two cocker spaniels. The RSPCA is calling on animal lovers to help their rescue teams save as many animals as possible.
