Officer Angela Laurella rescued a frail grey dog tied tightly to a pole in Pompano, Florida. Named Liam, the dog was emaciated and dehydrated with protruding bones and rib. Laurella sought help from 100+ Abandoned Dogs of Everglades Florida who accepted Liam despite being over capacity. After receiving numerous vet visits, Liam is currently gaining back strength and doing well.
Liam is a reminder of the high number of abandoned or surrendered pets in Florida. The rescue hopes that pet owners reach out to shelters and rescues for help and resources before abandoning their pets. Liam’s forgiving and grateful disposition proves that every dog deserves a second chance, and humanity can learn from dogs such as Liam.
