Traumatized Cat Finds A Forever Family That Loves Him–And His Crazy Whiskers!
2023/11/06

Meet Kyle, the charming cat with a "got milk?" mustache, yellow gaze, and adorably haphazard whiskers. But life hasn't always been so carefree for Kyle. In fact, he has endured a traumatic past that includes witnessing a murder in a household where he suffered abuse and neglect.

Kyle's experience led him to be placed in police custody as "evidence," where he lived with a group of thirty other cats. Unfortunately, this did little to alleviate his distress. Eventually, he was put up for adoption, and that's when fate stepped in.

Meanwhile, a couple searching for a feline companion for their cat, Princess Mer, stumbled upon Kyle's photo while browsing PetFinder. Instantly smitten, they embarked on a three-hour drive to the rescue where Kyle was located, hoping to make him a part of their furry family.

When they arrived and saw Kyle for the first time, they were both shocked and in love. His initial appearance was disheveled, with wheezing, dandruff, and unkempt whiskers. However, beneath this exterior, they saw a creature in need of care and affection.

Despite some initial health issues, such as only having three teeth, no claws, severe dandruff, hip dysplasia, and a crooked ear, Kyle has flourished in his new home. Today, he has a loving family and over 73,000 Instagram followers who adore him.

Adjusting to his new life took some time, given the trauma he had endured. Yet, Kyle's true personality began to shine through. He displayed his loving nature by eagerly seeking affection from his new family, even if it was only for small intervals of time.

Now, it has been six years since Kyle found his forever home, making him around eight to eleven years old. Despite his generally laid-back and easygoing nature, he is adamant about protecting his laps from any wrongful occupation, as shown in a heartwarming video featuring him and Princess Mer.

Those uniquely lovable whiskers of Kyle's are a combination of genetics and what his parents affectionately refer to as "extreme napping." They serve as a reminder of the joy he brings to their lives.

Kyle's journey has inspired his parents to support initiatives aimed at preventing domestic violence and advocating for animal-friendly domestic violence shelters. In their efforts to make a difference, they have set up a GoFundMe page, using Kyle as the spokescat, to provide assistance to those in dangerous situations.

So far, Kyle has raised a significant amount for non-profit organizations supporting animal-friendly domestic violence shelters. He hopes to continue increasing this amount to help even more people and animals in need.

Kyle's story serves as a beautiful example of turning adversity into positive change. His loving and safe home has allowed him to heal from his past traumas and live a life filled with happiness, cuddles, and companionship.
