Woman Carries 52 Lbs. White Samoyed Dog in Backpack to Beat Rule on N.Y.C. Subway
07/05/2023

It seems like Jackie Hornung has found a creative way to bend the rules and bring her beloved dog Lumi on the subway without violating New York law. While the law stipulates that animals must be enclosed in a container and carried in a manner that does not annoy other passengers, Hornung carries Lumi in a spacious backpack that allows him to sit naturally. She claims that he enjoys being carried and gets lots of attention from people who pet him while he's in the bag. This is not the first time people have found creative ways to bring their dogs onto the subway, with some resorting to putting them in Ikea bags or carrying them in handbags. Despite the controversy, Lumi seems to be enjoying his travels around NYC and has even visited famous landmarks.
