Meet Orbit, the extraordinary feline who has defied his disability to live life to the fullest. Despite being born with undeveloped eyes, he doesn't let that stop him from enjoying the simple pleasures of life. Described as a cat filled with "orange cat energy," Orbit finds joy in the same things any other cat would. His loving human mom, Ashley, knew it was love at first sight when she met him, and now she shares her home with Orbit and his canine brother, Axil Bean, who is also a rescue. Together, this dynamic duo is a heartwarming testament to the saying "who rescued who."
Orbit's courage is truly inspirational. Just two days after Ashley brought him home, he faced a critical situation. Despite running a fever of 106, he remained purring while they rushed him to the emergency room. Although he seemed to improve after a short stay at the veterinary clinic, Orbit faced yet another hurdle. He developed three severe upper respiratory infections, which were attributed to the undeveloped tissue where his eyes should have been. Following the vet's advice, the tissue was surgically removed, and Orbit's health showed remarkable improvement. "This little guy defines courage, and his love for life knows no bounds," Ashley exclaimed.
One of Orbit's greatest joys in life is exploring. With his keen senses and zest for life, he is an avid adventurer. Accompanied by his mom and brother, he delights in outdoor escapades. "Though I've never seen the world, I've mastered the art of feeling and tasting my way around. I'm an incredibly happy and adventurous soul," he quips. Ashley finds immense joy in witnessing Orbit's wonderment at the world. She says, "Being his safe space brings me an immense sense of fulfillment." Interestingly, Orbit has even managed to convert some cat skeptics. Ashley shares, "My friends and family always claimed they didn't like cats until they met Orbit."
Orbit's influence extends far beyond converting cat skeptics; he has been a lifeline for Ashley as well. "My mental health was quite poor, and knowing that he needed me gave me the strength to carry on. I knew he would never stop looking for me. He's really special, and I am incredibly lucky to have him," Ashley confided. In addition to his charming personality, Orbit also loves flaunting cute outfits chosen by his adoring mom. Ashley considers both her rescue pets as her children and takes delight in dressing Orbit in newborn children's attire. As for her closing advice, she says, "I found my 'soul cat' by adopting a special needs pet. I encourage everyone to consider giving special needs animals a chance."
Orbit's story is heartwarming, but it also serves as a beacon of hope and courage. It shows us that the bonds formed with our furry friends can be truly life-altering. Orbit is a superhero in his own right, defying the odds and spreading love and happiness wherever he goes.
