A study published in Applied Animal Behaviour Science found that dog personality is strongly linked to human personality. The study, conducted by researchers at Michigan State University and published in the Journal of Research in Personality, surveyed over 1,600 dog owners across 50 different breeds. The results showed that dogs' personalities change over time and correlate with their owners' personalities in three main areas: age and personality, human-to-dog personality similarities, and the influence of a dog's personality on the quality of its relationship with its owner. The research also revealed that dogs' personalities can be influenced by training, environment, and lifestyle changes.
