Michael Joy's dog, Sam, went missing in 2016 and despite searching and checking local shelters, he was unable to find him. Michael and his family eventually moved to Kentucky, but he never gave up hope of finding Sam and regularly returned to their previous home in Georgia.
Almost five years later, Michael received a call from City Dogs Cleveland that they had found Sam and traced him back to the Joy family through his microchip. Michael drove eight hours to Ohio and was reunited with Sam, who was just as excited as he was. The emotional reunion highlights the importance of microchipping pets and never giving up hope.
