Derby’s front paws were deformed from birth.He could barely walk, and often scraped or cut himself. He was going to be euthanized, but a no-kill shelter decided to save him. And when he got his 3d-printed prosthetic legs, he was off like greased lightning! It all started with his foster mommy Tara Anderson, who works at 3D Systems. They took CT scans of Derby’s elbows and designed some custom prosthetic legs.The prosthetics will start low and get bigger as Derby gets used to them. Derby now lives with Don and Sherry Portanova
