Gracie, an 11-year-old rescue dog, saved a blind 92-year-old man's life by alerting her owner, Mary Violante, to his presence with persistent barking. Violante followed Gracie to find John Ball lying on the ground. She quickly called 911, and Ball was found to have only minor injuries.
Gracie was rewarded with treats and a thank you note from Ball, who now considers her his hero. Gracie and Ball became friends, and Gracie visits him regularly to check on his well-being.
