JJ Abrams and Lost star Josh Holloway are reuniting for a new crime drama on HBO Max called Duster. The series has been given an official order by HBO Max and will feature Abrams as co-creator, director, and producer, while Holloway will play the lead role alongside Rachel Hilson.
Duster is set in 1972 and follows the story of the first Black female FBI agent who travels to the Southwest to stop a growing crime syndicate. She recruits a cheeky getaway driver, played by Holloway, to help her in her mission. The show will have eight episodes in its first season, with Abrams and LaToya Morgan serving as writers and executive producers.
This collaboration between Abrams and Holloway is highly anticipated, as they had great success together on the hit show Lost from 2004 to 2010. Lost fans were left disappointed with the show's ending, and this new project gives Abrams and Holloway a chance to make up for that.
Duster is just one of three new shows that Abrams is working on with HBO Max, including Justice League Dark. The series is expected to debut on HBO Max in the near future and promises to be an exciting addition to the crime drama genre.
