Lifeguards in Long Beach, California spotted a small dog struggling in the cold ocean waters after running across a parking lot and into the sea. Using binoculars, they saw the dog paddling hard to keep her head above water and decided to launch a rescue mission.
Marine safety officer Chase McColl paddled out into the ocean on a board while safety officer Devon Beebe directed him from the shore. Eventually, McColl reached the dog and brought her back to safety on the board. The little dog, named Tofu, was initially scared but warmed up to her rescuers and was eventually reunited with her family.
