A homeless dog in Iraq, named Nubs, longed for love and hope. He was saved by a marine, Major Brian Dennis, who shared his food and love with him. After his wounds were treated, Nubs had a warm bed, meals, and a new friendship. Despite being forced to part from Major Dennis, Nubs followed him, walking 75 miles across the desert to stay with his Marine.
Even though there was a rule against keeping pets, the Marines made a dog house for Nubs, until someone complained and Major Dennis was ordered to get rid of him. Instead, he raised money to send Nubs to his new home in San Diego, where he lived until his passing. Nubs' heartwarming story about the importance of rescuing dogs is an inspiration to us all.
