Stowaway cat accidentally left at a charity is reunited with owners
12/06/2023

A cat named Lola was found in a bag of old blankets at Battersea's Old Windsor center where her owner had donated the items. The staff nicknamed her Slinky and waited to see if anyone claimed her since she wasn't microchipped. After two days, Lola's family contacted the center, worried about their missing pet. They were soon reunited with her. The incident occurred two months after the UK government made it compulsory for all pet cats to be microchipped, which will make it easier for lost pets to be returned to their owners. Nearly 59% of cats brought to the center last year weren't microchipped.
