James Wathen, a terminally ill patient at Baptist Health Corbin in Kentucky, was reunited with his one-eyed Chihuahua, Bubba, thanks to the efforts of caring nurses. Bubba had been placed with a foster family after being abandoned by his owner, and he had shown signs of mental suffering. After Wathen was reunited with Bubba, he felt a sense of excitement and nostalgia that seemed to improve his condition. The next day, he ate and sat up when he hadn't done so before. Baptist Health Corbin is now making sure that Wathen has regular visits with his cherished pet.
