Kareem Garibaldi, a Florida police officer narrowly avoided hitting a little puppy with his car. The 8-week-old stray was alone, with no identification, making it difficult for Garibaldi to find its owner. Despite his best efforts, the puppy remained homeless.
Garibaldi moved the puppy to his own home and visited the SPCA Florida Medical Center to ensure her wellbeing. Prone to exhaustion, Garibaldi even fell asleep beside the pup whilst waiting for her examination. A local dispatcher noticed the puppy at the station, quickly becoming smitten. The now-named Hope was soon adopted, thanks to Garibaldi's determination to protect her.
