Valerie Reid, a kind-hearted woman from Missouri, has transformed her home into a hospice for elderly dogs that have been abandoned or whose owners have passed away. She created Whispering Willows Senior Dog Sanctuary in 2017 after struggling to find a home for her father’s elderly Doberman. The non-profit organisation now looks after up to 80 dogs at a time.
The dogs live with Valerie and her family, and are treated as part of the family. Valerie takes in all elderly dogs, giving them a new lease on life with safety and love. She finds joy in seeing the transformation they go through once they know they are safe and cared for.
