Buddy the dog was intentionally set on fire by a 12-year-old child and was found with severe burns sustained in the incident. He has been undergoing treatment for his injuries, including skin graft surgeries using North Atlantic codfish skin, at Mississippi State University's veterinary college. Despite his traumatic experience, Buddy has been described as a loving and forgiving dog.
While the child cannot be charged criminally due to their age, many people have signed a petition calling for justice for Buddy. Once he has fully recovered, Buddy will be placed in a forever home as the Tunica Humane Society has already received dozens of adoption applications for him.
