The trailer for the film "Your Lucky Day" has been released, showcasing one of the late Angus Cloud's final film roles. In the movie, Cloud plays the character of Sterling, a mild-mannered drug dealer who holds a convenience store hostage after witnessing an older man win the $156 million lottery. With his face disguised with a Playboy magazine, Sterling holds the lottery winner at gunpoint in an attempt to get the winning ticket. A fatal shootout occurs with a cop while the other witnesses, including expectant parents Ana Marlene and Abraham, as well as convenience store owner Amir, must decide how far they are willing to go for a cut of the money.
The film explores themes of wealth and inequity, questioning whether the American Dream is truly accessible to all. Director Daniel Brown believes that the concept of the American Dream changed after the Gold Rush, becoming more focused on instant wealth rather than freedom and fulfillment. Actress Jessica Garza, who plays Ana Marlene in the film, shares this sentiment, believing that the American Dream is rarely achieved by the majority while only a select few obtain it easily.
Angus Cloud was chosen for the role of Sterling due to his previous work in HBO's Euphoria.
Despite initial hesitations about casting him because of similarities to his previous character, Cloud's stories and outlook convinced the director that he was perfect for the role. Garza describes Cloud as a "beam of light" both on and off-screen, remembering him for his kindness, humility, and sincerity. The film ends with a tribute to Cloud, who tragically passed away at the age of 25 from an accidental drug overdose.代表者: 土屋千冬
