Henry Cavill Addresses Whether New Spy Movie Affects His James Bond Chances

Henry Cavill has commented on whether his role in Argylle will affect his chances of becoming the next James Bond. Speaking in an interview with Total Film, Cavill acknowledged that the decision is ultimately up to Barbara Broccoli and Michael G. Wilson. He stated, "Whether I’m ruled out of Bond because of this or not is up to Barbara Broccoli and Mr. Wilson."

While Cavill does not share his own thoughts on his chances, it is worth noting that he previously auditioned for the role of Bond in Casino Royale but was deemed too young at the time. Now that Daniel Craig has departed the role, Cavill is among the names being considered, alongside other actors like Aaron Taylor-Johnson and Regé-Jean Page. However, Cavill's age and busy schedule may work against him, as Bond actors typically start in their mid-30s and the role requires significant time commitments.

While Cavill is not completely out of the running, it appears that his chances of becoming 007 may decrease over time.
